No Backlight part 1 ccfl
I just want to say hello to all and thank you for reading my post.
Usually when I need to repair a notebook that has this problem I go straight to the screen and I change it or I test It with a smash screen only to see if the lamps powers up.
The difference between ccfl screens and led is that ccfl has a actual neon inside the screen and the led screen got foil with led fitted on it.
To power up that neon inside the screen it needs a lot of voltage so invertor convert that 12v to the amount of voltage it requireds.
Repairing a no backlight problem to a notebook relates to 3 major comcomponent:
Cable, invertor and screen(neons)
1.Checking or verifying a cable its a slow but not hard work, you only need to patient.
Set the multimeter on continuity and use a wire to insert in the connector.
2.Checking the invertor its a little complicated because you can repair it if you got some basic knowledge of electronics.
The basic and the only think you can do is to check the fuse and for cold joints on the transformer.if you really want to repair it you need to check the smd capacitors, transistors or DC DC convertors but when you start to dig ,you will reach a point when you will say its not worth it. It actually not worth fixing a inverter because they are so cheap to buy. My opinion!
3. Checking a screen its very easy, like if you wanna know if the lamps are bad.
You just need to disconnect the lamps cable and connect other( similar) lamps or connect a smash screen, only the lamp cable.
When you power up the notebook you will see that the lamp will start on the smash screen and image will be on your notebook.
BEWARE of short circuit when applying this metod.
That’s it . If you want to change the lamps from the screen you need to watch a video online how to take it apart.
Be safe and good luck with the diagnostic.
